About

A new way to look at history—and to understand the present

In a world marked by social, climatic and geopolitical upheavals, many pupils struggle to see how traditional history lessons connect to the issues they face daily. Reframe the Story offers an innovative approach: allowing students to modify a historical event and explore the social, political and cultural consequences of that change.

By working with alternative scenarios, they learn to analyse dominant narratives, identify bias, and develop a more nuanced understanding of the mechanisms that shape societies.

Narrative Boxes: turning the classroom into a laboratory of ideas

At the heart of the project:

  • Five interactive narrative boxes presenting alternative historical scenarios;
  • Participatory workshops where each student takes on a role, builds arguments and makes decisions that influence the storyline;
  • A European platform showcasing students’ creations and fostering dialogue between classes across countries.

These tools will help integrate perspectives often absent from traditional textbooks, strengthening inclusion and diversity in education.

Empowering teachers for long-term impact

Reframe the Story also equips teachers to innovate through:

  • A dedicated training programme on uchronia, media literacy and narrative workshop facilitation;
  • A comprehensive teaching guide and facilitation guide
  • 2 transnational training sessions to exchange good practices and ensure long-term implementation.
